  • What it is: An ultrasound test of your heart at rest and during exercise to see how well it works under stress.
  • What it does:
    • Helps find problems with blood flow to your heart muscle.
    • Useful for chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness.
  • Why you might need it:
    • Check for coronary artery disease (blocked arteries).
    • See how well your heart valves work during exercise.
  • What to expect:
    • Wear comfy clothes and shoes for exercise.
    • Stickers on chest for heart rate, and a cuff for blood pressure.
    • Resting ultrasound, then walk on a treadmill (increasing difficulty).
    • More ultrasound after exercise.
    • Takes about 1 hour.
  • After the test:
    • Resume normal activities.
    • Doctor will discuss results and next steps at a follow-up visit.
  • Risks:
    • Minor risks like chest pain or dizziness (rare).
    • Safe when done under supervision.
